COVID19 Vaccine Myths

I’m not surprised in any way seeing the rhetoric around COVID19 vaccines. After all, we now live in a country where “anti-vaxxers” who were once treated as a fringe group, have gone mainstream with their pseudoscience, misinformation, and outright lies. Social Media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp are ripe with conspiracy theories surrounding the COVID19 vaccines. And people who are otherwise educated and intelligent individuals, are buying into this nonsense.

One of the cultural aspects of the United States is a belief in individualism. However, this pandemic has shown us the limitations of taking an ideology based on individualism and taking it to the extreme. No society can exist without regard to the community’s well being. We function together. And the community taking a vaccine is for everyone’s well being.

Your children won’t develop autism, the vaccine is NOT made of aborted fetuses (really?), and it does not change your DNA. The vaccines are safe, and this is what we need to get over the nightmare of COVID19.

Whenever you have questions regarding your health and medical care, PLEASE speak to your Physician. Unless you’re a M.D. or a D.O., I’m not taking medical advice from you. And that’s what everyone’s approach should be.

The Mayo Clinic, one of the world’s most renowned medical, research, and health institutions, has put together this page of COVID19 Vaccine Myths- and the truth to each of them:

Please be responsible in what you post and what you share! We can defeat this together.
